One Percent Changes: Reusable facial wipes

How does this help?

Unless the packaging specifies that it is 100% cotton, most cotton wool based products (like tampons, pads, nappies and make-up removing wipes) contain synthetic fibres which make them more durable when being used. These are non-biodegradable and will persist in a landfill or compost heap long after the actual cotton material has broken down. In addition to this, cotton is on of the most water-intensive crops, requiring about 20 000 litres of water to produce enough cotton for a single T-shirt and a pair of jeans.

Reusable wipes not only reduce the amount of waste you generate, but also reduces your indirect water consumption, and saves money you would have spent buying more disposable wipes all the time.
